Leaders of the seven leading countries,
You are endowed with lively sensibility.
Men of most wonderful
Serene and stately you are
Pity’s bright beam
Shines in your eyes.
I am begging the winds
To carry the sad moans
Of helpless women to your ears.
They are imploring you
To bring back their husbands
And their beloved sons,
Lost in the maze of war.
Alleviate their torments,
Their heavy trailing melancholy.
Their eyes are fathomless,
wondering,bleak and bare.
Lost in misery’s darkest caverns,
frail of heart,their lamentations resembles
Mary’s lamentation for Christ.
Give new leases to their new lives.
Remove the brutal blast of winter,
Give them the innocent vision
Of an ordered and unified world. [avatar user=”Pramila” size=”100″ align=”right” link=”/author/pramila”]
I make this earnest appeal
To your kind hearts
For of all hearts, yours are the softest.
