A black hole even the gods dared not stray
Full of agony and misery served on a tray
Of an age when humanity had lost the fray
As the reigns of slavery led mankind ashtray
The writing on the wall did not betray
A hell on earth the grim words portray
“Abandon all hope to all ye who pray”
Reads the blood sprayed in disarray
Remember me, remember me
The forsaken ghost of a memory
Remember me, remember me
Lost in the pages of history
Haunting the bay with a message to relay
We must face our demons without delay
For the sins of the past must never mislay
The wickedness that our kind can display
The skeletons in the closet we can’t waylay
Good and evil are the only two forces at play
Our immoral flaws are the dragons to slay
Our forefathers souls turning where the lay
Remember me, remember me
The forsaken ghost of a memory
Remember me, remember me
Lost in the pages of history
Shimoni cave the accursed abysmal passageway
Where suffering and death could have their way
On the waves of slaves getting smuggled away
Then sold in isle Zanzibar and lands so far away
Their wails can still be heard to present day
Trapped underneath beyond sunlight’s ray
Their restless souls demand to have their say
To be freed from the shackles of yesterday
Remember me, remember me
The forsaken ghost of a memory
Remember me, remember me
Lost in the pages of history
