A lion king without his pride
Is a groom without his bride
It’s a long, hard and lonely ride
When you swim against the tide

Pain that’s bottled up inside
Can’t forever be pushed aside
It’s a shadow that stays beside
In the lone emptiness you reside

If heart and spirit don’t coincide
Such a clash is a form of suicide
The silent tears most try to hide
Poisons us to choke and chide

When there’s no one to confide
Our indifference seems bonafide
Thus our flaws they begin to glide
Troubled emotions set to collide

The darkness does provide
A life’s path of great divide
That stretches far and wide
It’s always upon you to decide
