Songs by a nightly orchestra is nothing dubious
From the order orthoptera and the amphibious
Filling the air with sounds so unharmonious
In any occasion their music unceremonious
Their wild and carefree themes so oblivious
To man’s destruction of nature, it’s obvious
That the future of this planet is disastrous
Due to pollutants and acts so monstrous
A howl or an owl and creatures anonymous
Can add to the symphony some infamous
I have not a single reason to be suspicious
But are their songs to the skies auspicious!?
The subject of my inquiry does sound hilarious

No beats, no lyrics, no chorus, no verse
No knowledge to what they converse
Their rhythmic sounds uniquely diverse
Nightly performing to the whole universe

Yet I pose it with an intent that is very serious
A matter that was roused from my subconscious
And now a thought that is vexing my conscious
If there is meaning in their music, just curious
I wander what it would be! Are they furious?
Or are they weeping or are their songs joyous?
Are their hymns something spiritual or religious?
Could these ballads to the heavens be hideous?
Denouncing how man and his ways are insidious
For our human nature is no longer gracious
We tend to use and abuse all that’s precious
Truly their no creature that’s more malicious
Man’s defilement of nature has been vicious

No beats, no lyrics, no chorus, no verse
No knowledge to what they converse
Their rhythmic sounds uniquely diverse
Nightly performing to the whole universe
