Terracotta, terracotta temples
Of Chandrakona,
Age-old and historical
Temples
Of Chandrakona,
Who, who to restore
and renovate them,
Repair and rejuvenate them
The terracotta,
Terracotta temples
Of Chandrakona,
Taking back to the days
Of yore
Buried deep in history,
The antique temples
Of Chandrakona?

The sandstone boulders
Cut and fitted
And chiselled marvellous
At Malleswarpur,
But plastered with
Lime clay,
The Navratna temple
Of Mitrasenpurpur excellent,
The Kar family temple at Gobindpur
Strange with a wooden and blackly statue
Of Manasha and Shitala.

Wherever go I, see I the temple,
the temple, temple, temple,
Falling, dilapidating, crumbling,
Coming down upon,
The debris of,
Temples lying neglected and abandoned,
Fallen and buried deep
Into the earth of history.
