Ode to childhood

At sixties now,
I still cling to childhood…
Not that I have not grown;
more I grow more reminiscences
of childhood glow.
I willingly allow me this breather.
It helps me be me.

To relive the values taught
Unburden the usurious knot ,
any better elixir to purge the stain
than frequent journeys down memory lane
for childhood scan ? …

How true the great poet
who felt the deep refrain
‘Child is the father of Man’…
