Holi hain, bura mat mano, Holi hain,
It’s Holi, take it not bad, it’s Holi,
The revellers saying and going
With the dust and colour,
Ashes and powders,
Holi hain, bura mat mano, Holi hain,
It’s Holi, take it not bad, it’s Holi,
The revellers looking ghosts,
The cheeks turned black, green, red, pink,
Blue and violet-coloured,
The revellers looking ghosts
Shouting in delight and going
With dust, mud, water and powder
Whatever is available,
Pausing the strangers, passers-by
And smearing with, pouring over
Coloured waters,
Foreigners too appalled to see
The Holi revelries
Full of colour and delight
With the Falgun winds doing the rounds
With the pollens of flowers writ around,
Holi hain,
Bura mat mano, Holi hain.
