Eyes of the world

Slight in stature
but heavy in heart,
I carry the words of a world
that is slowly falling apart
on frail, invisible shoulders
Tightly wrapped boxes
of life’s many stresses
all for me to carry;
too real to be imaginary
I smile to the world
with my glossy lips
but sometimes, my eyes
deceive even me
All my fears crystal clear
for the world to see
A tear here and there
or a saddened glare
My pain on a pedestal
for all the world to see
