Love to me had always been a masquerade
I was the kind of lover many mothers forbade
I won ladies love with my suave poetic serenade
And blew their hearts with words like a grenade

My list of lovers could’ve filled a whole brigade
When things got serious I’d become a renegade
Sticking to a relationship was never in my trade
Commitment felt like waters which I couldn’t wade

Then I met her, a beautiful, rare and lovely special jade
She taught me that love wasn’t a game or a charade
Falling in love with her was a destiny I could not evade
Without her near, my yearning for her never could fade

If you see her tell her my life is crumbling like bread
That I have tried and still can’t get her out of my head
Thought I’d conquered love but love has got me instead
And without her love I can’t help feeling as if am dead

She was angelic and real, always called a spade a spade
Her lovely eyes saw through my hearts defensive barricade
Her smile and kiss turned my life’s lemons to sweet lemonade
Moments I spent with her are my sweetest memories ever made

With true love she came into my life and swiftly led
To affections and bonding from which I’ve often fled
Now my heart can be used, abused, misused or even bled
By the strong desires and sensational emotions she bred

These feelings that haunt me can only be satisfied and fed
By her and her only, her passionate love and charms in bed
I hope it’s not too late to commit and ask for her hand to wed
Since she went away I am miserable, lonely, love sick and unfed

If you see her tell her my life is crumbling like bread
That I have tried and still can’t get her out of my head
Thought I’d conquered love but love has got me instead
And without her love I can’t help feeling as if am dead
