RAMADHAN

RAMADHAN

A birth of a new light in the sky
My Charismatic Crescent
For your arrival many await
Your Crystal Concave Silver line to see.
Swimming across the Metaphoric sea of the sky
Amidst the ironic forest of the stars
Reflecting brightness of the setting Golden Sun
Glaring as you glow
Making us glare with impish glee
Enunciating “Has it been sighted?” many a times.
My Charismatic Crescent
Come and show your presence
With your Ramadhanic enticement prowess
To entice one and all towards rewardable acts
For peace is neither a faith nor a belief
It’s an element of your true tranquility.
My Charismatic Crescent
Golden in value- Silver in colour
Vaulted behind the clouds
We all await your arrival
As you orbit displaying your planetary splendour
Beautifying as you transcend
Reminding me of my young dreams
When my eyes reach for the stars
And I see your curvaceous outfit
Wrapped in your glowing apron
As you followed the Setting Sun
Assuming you to a Suitor and a betrothed,
Conceiving within my dear heart a Ceremonial Solemnisation
That you shall wed next day
As people converged to Midwifed your coming Son
A precious son named ramadhan
Twenty nine or Thirty days it shall live
Blessing all the mothers and the fathers as they fast
Happy Ramadhan!

Smile

Smile

Smile…. a magical lexicon
A symbol of friendship and peace
Energises tranquility and positivity
Implants spirit to overcome difficulties

Smile being an expression of
Strength, mirth, innocence,
love and elegance
Solves intensified differences!

Let’s all adopt the countenance
May it be for long or a short while
Laugh, grin ,giggle and simper
De stress and make others happier!

SPRING

SPRING

SPRING

Pleasant awaited time of the year
To enjoy the green meadows,
Colourful hill slopes, scented plateaus…
An entity of Paradise on earth.

In warm sun and magical showers–
Cooing cuckoos, chirping birds,
Buzzing bees and nimble ants
Display life all around.

After a period of cold winter gloom,
Flowers start smiling in their full bloom.
Tall trees in their best colourful attire
Cast their charm and beauty far and wide.

If we had no winter,
Spring might not be so pleasanter..
Good or bad never remains for ever,
Worthy lesson from Mother Nature.

The thing with Writerly Insomnia

The thing with Writerly Insomnia

I hail from lands that might seem strange to you my dear
So I have many things to tell you
But I waste much time in trying to make the story short
and encoding it in the language you understand
Sometimes I get lost in poetic mazes of my own making

As for my bloodshot eyes
it’s just a “thing” that comes with writerly insomnia

But you see
the “thing” with writerly insomnia is life threatening:
I have been staring at blank pages for hours
pondering:
the ink I put, wont it only yield blotted pages?

Bura Mat Mano, Bhaiyya, Holi Hain, But Keep You On Guard Of

Bura Mat Mano, Bhaiyya, Holi Hain, But Keep You On Guard Of

Bura mat mano, Holi hain,
Take you it not bad, it’s Holi,
The festival of colours,
Coloured water and coloured powder
Sprinkled over and thrown to,
Sprinkled and smeared with,
It’s Holi, Holi hain,
Bura mat mano, Holi hain,
The old and the children
All drenched in,
The old and the young
Looking colured-coloured,
Blackly and multi-coloured
And smiling and smiling
With the teeth too coloured
Red or green, blue or black
Looking like ghosts,
The hair dirty with coloured powder
And the faces strangely coloured,
But celebrate you, celebrate you
With restraint
Not by being a dullard
Without the senses,
A reveler totally lost
In revelry.

Happy, Happy New Year To You, Happy, Happy New Year to You! (On The Eve of The New Year)/ Wish You A Happy, Happy New Year To You, A Happy 2017!

Happy, Happy New Year To You, Happy, Happy New Year to You! (On The Eve of The New Year)/ Wish You A Happy, Happy New Year To You, A Happy 2017!

Happy, happy new year to you,
Happy, happy new year to you,
Happy, happy new year
To you
And the people revelling,
Gossiping, chatting warmly,
Hand-shaking,
Greeting each other,
Hugging, embracing,
Singing, singing and dancing,
Dancing and singing,
Flanking each other,
Shoulder over shoulder,
Dance, dance you
But not with daru,
The bottle of daru,
Gulping and welcoming it!

The new year has not come,
Has not, but about to
Come, the clock hand showing,
The electronic watch indicating,
Impressing, touching
The twelve
And with the touch of,
Crackers bursting,
Sparkling,
People shouting,
Dancing and greeting
And revelling,
Happy, happy new year to you,
The same to you!
Let the new, new year bring, bring you,
You lots of happiness,
Let, let the new year
Lots, lots of happiness and joys,
Joys to you and your family,
My best wishes,
Wishes for you and your family,
Dance, dance you,
Revel, revel you, but end you not yourselves
In the joy of greeting and revelling,
Daru mat pina, bhaiyya,
Daru pi ke barbad naa kar lena, mere dost.

On the eve of the new year,
Drink you, drink you not as thus
That you will end yourself,
Will fail to see a new morning
Dawning upon, my friend,
Daru mat pina, bhaiyya,
Daru pi ke barbad naa kar lena, mere dost,
Do not take daru, big brother,
Having drunk too much destroy you not
Yourself, my friend,
On the eve of the new year,
Happy, happy new year,
New year to you,
But never, never turn it,
Turn it into a drunkards’ party,
Never, never into,
Into bootleggers, drug peddlers
And woman traffickers’ party!
