‘Spirit Broken’

‘Spirit Broken’

SPIRIT BROKENSpirit Broken Painting Framed

I don’t want to live, yet I don’t want to die.
Where can I run to, where can I hide?
Don’t show me the sun, take away the stars
This wracking debilitating pain inside my mind
Relentlessly tortures throughout day and night.

There was a time the salty breeze and wind
Swept into my soul and my heart would sing
With purity and eagerness, swimming with tides
I soared with eagles with such lust for life
Endless days of passion, always winning the fight.

Many battles I won, with my head held so high
No one could ever destroy me, or my pride
Neither sword nor boulder could conquer me
With strength, I pursued what I knew to be right
Destroying blackness before it enveloped my life.

Those beautiful days of golden sunlight, so free
Such brief moments of bliss, passionate ecstasy
Just fleeting memories now, I watch the sun set
Impending inevitable darkness soon to take hold
Destroying my dreams, heart, brave spirit and soul.

I don’t want to live, yet I don’t want to die.
Where can I run to, where can I hide?
Cancerous growth of sadness, too much to bear
Black dog’s invasiveness, destroying all sanity
Imbedding darkness, acidly eating into agony.

“Lost Before Life Began”

“Lost Before Life Began”

“Lost Before Life Began”

My breath is now torn, through interminable winters morn.
Warmth of sun’s rays lay absent, upon this dawn of cold.
Shadowing darkness discerns and deciphers each breath I take.
Again once more, lost dreams and memories, I forsake.

Too cold! Plateaus of stillness, grey, staid, eternally remain
Succumbing as one, resignation, silence, still, maimed.
Relegating within eons of emptiness beneath hardened soil
Remaining for all of eternity, fragile, hurt, silence unspoiled.

Emptiness , pain, loss and sadness, reign, forever true.
Unfolded creases, infinite locked chains, rusted, no hues.
Depths of despair, hidden always behind the mask, a waste
Human tragedy succumbs, infinite silence, bereft of all trace.

Gasping for air, a solitaire of a pawn, silent, broken and torn.
I lay me down finally, in peace, never to see the light of Dawn.
Pain, loss, mirrored images, dreams, never to be fulfilled
Eternally I dance alone, silence, solitude, forever to mourn.

Life is not a fairy tale, complete with happiness and love.
As a child I dreamed so much of better days to come,
Never venturing my way, and my life has been desecrated
I gave so much, working so hard, alas, now has been abated.

Emotional pain, disbelief, hurt and insufferable abandonment,
From the day I was born, shunned and rejected by parents
Cast aside to a children’s home, unwanted, and not needed.
Memories of tears, no hugs, desperate, and shrouded with fear.

I have continued to survive, though many years later, growing old.
Dreams of yesterday pervade my soul, spirit, always taking hold,
Of memories, which I held with belief and truth, at the final end
Remain just shadows, fairy tale stories, I accept, a heart to never mend.

Breaking The Chains

Breaking The Chains

“Breaking The Chains”

I do not shed my heartfelt, silent tears, because of you
Or the emotional damage that you have caused to me.
Throughout too many years of abuse, and criticism
I now know, that you are absolutely, not worth it.
You truly are the epitomy of a façade, a fake, for all to see.

I am sad, disheartened, and sometimes rendered into disbelief
That you are not the person, I thought you were. Or would be.
Your charismatic charm, using words of false endearments
Has destroyed trust and love from others, but especially from me.
You inflict ridicule to those, who do not meet your selfish needs.

You have utterly destroyed belief in you, when I remained steadfast and true.
Though I have now enabled myself to cut the chains, that you encased me within.
Pursuing shadowed dreams which drowned within your demands, needs for you.
Faded memories, and too much sorrow. Believing in a better day, for tomorrow.
The loss of you has strengthened me, to pursue my goals, with no more sorrow.

“My Priceless Gift”

“My Priceless Gift”

“My Priceless Gift”

This poem is for you, my Dearest and Best Friend,
The beautiful person who shares thoughts of gold
Who can relate to me like no other was able.
We share laughter together, like the little girls
We were so long ago, when we hid behind our dreams.
Never have you turned your back on me,
Or told me I was just not good enough ,
Or let me down. Steadfast, true, the special you.
Always holding steadfast to the belief, for the future
Though your sadness you have held so deep.
But those of us whom love you, hold you within our hearts.
I don’t think you really acknowledge, how beautiful you are
You have suffered so much pain, but you still have time,
To listen and show care, to others you respect and trust
And I love you for listening even when inside YOU are dying
And I look up to you because you are strong, and beautiful.
You truly epitomise the beauty of your heart and soul.
I hope you know and realise that I am always here for you
To listen to your laughter, and silent cries for help
In all the ways that I can be here, with no judgement
And I will always be the very best friend for you,
As you have been for me. An infinite blessing,
To me, my dear girl, with so much love to give.

And you in return, can be assured for all of life
Acceptance and unconditional love, with all of its meaning
I would not be the person I am today, without you by my side
My dearest and best friend, for all of infinity, for all of time.

“Never Give Up”

“Never Give Up”

“Never Give Up”

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will
And the road you tread seems always to be uphill.
When the funds are low, and the debts are too high
You wish to smile, but in depth sadness makes you cry
Remain steadfast, as your strength, will make it right.

This is not a poem to rhyme, to resonate memories of pain,
But words for those of us, who suffer silently, within decay
Of dreams unfulfilled, memories of love and too much loss.
Belief within our hearts, silent tears and words, each day
Imbedded within our souls and spirit, we remain true, and stay.

Never abandon your dreams, or memories of wishes and life’s fruit
Stay strong for you, when weariness, from swimming against the tide
Often wears you down, to a black emotional state, with loss of truth
And the tiredness, with ongoing battles, to rise above, seems lost forever
But you will return to your unique self, determined and will once again shine.

Pursue your dreams, your goals, and your absolute reason to live
To make this a better world, for you, and for me, for your own beliefs
That all will be right in the end, you reaching your own pinnacle, dreams
Which you held steadfast and true, through adversity and much sadness
Though you will continue to live, maybe within silence, but reign in peace.
