Poetic torch

Hearts blemished with misery’s blotch
Thus drowning in pools of whiskey and scotch
And prowl life’s gutters like vermin like roach
I cleanse your heart with a poetic torch

Adorned with divine power to scorch
Anguished emotions that blind and encroach
Ones heart with despair and a painful notch
I burn your demons with a poetic torch

A wound so vile it festers with reproach
That poisons one outlook and life’s approach
Damning souls to a sad and sorrowful epoch
I remedy your malady with a poetic torch

Hearts that seem forsaken by Gods watch
In melancholy’s wilderness a prize to poach
For yours is a lost soul with no guide no coach
I light you a path with a poetic torch
