A POETIC TORCH TO MAKE YOU SHINE

A POETIC TORCH TO MAKE YOU SHINE

Poetic torch

Hearts blemished with misery’s blotch
Thus drowning in pools of whiskey and scotch
And prowl life’s gutters like vermin like roach
I cleanse your heart with a poetic torch

Adorned with divine power to scorch
Anguished emotions that blind and encroach
Ones heart with despair and a painful notch
I burn your demons with a poetic torch

A wound so vile it festers with reproach
That poisons one outlook and life’s approach
Damning souls to a sad and sorrowful epoch
I remedy your malady with a poetic torch

Hearts that seem forsaken by Gods watch
In melancholy’s wilderness a prize to poach
For yours is a lost soul with no guide no coach
I light you a path with a poetic torch

IN THE NAME OF YOUR SMILE

IN THE NAME OF YOUR SMILE

Roma Smile

Your smile looked at me through the image…
Surrounded by flowers dazzling white…
Laced with rubies and gems of a youthful age…
The lock of streaming hair oh so wavy and bright…
I wondered if it was real…
And sparkling eyes said of course real and not surreal…

Such apt lines get so quickly delivered
Which I know my friend I can never, if it was not for that smile
Which enlightens my understanding, and a brightened zeal
In front of that smile my skills are no big deal
Oh my dear pal and friend keep on smiling is my appeal
A smiling talent you are, what else to say…

You and your smile and your writing…
All three are so very beautiful…
Who in the right mind would compete but rather complete…
The adoration and the admiration so bountiful…
There is no wonder now but only amazement…
For these lines has now become a monument of bedazzlement…

The Beginning, The End And Everything In Between

The Beginning, The End And Everything In Between

Sculpture - head of Jesus Christ

From the cradle to the grave man carries a certain burden
Like a ball and chain…mortality
How does one wander about the gates of hell
Mistaking it for some kind heaven
For some I observe, they live their days akin to a life of wine and roses
Smelling the decay but calling it perfume

What is…in the in between?
Soulful existence, just being, punctuated with bit moments of joy
Swift curtain calls of comedy and tragedy
Seasons within seasons blustering in, blowing out
How does one truly find contentment in this gift called life?

Everything in between never quenches the soul
Always, it is searching, looking for fulfillment
In every sunny area, in every dark corner of the attic
As a human being
Not one, cannot escape this condition
Are we, as one wise king lamented!
Gratification from this world is “a chasing after the wind?”

The end though, is as the beginning
It starts with a breath and ending with one
Alas, the question remains for some
What comes next?
For me contentment is my faith in Jesus Christ
Faith is the substance of things hoped for
The evidence of things not yet seen

DANCING STEPS ON STRINGS

Dancing steps on strings
Guitar sounds soul stinging
Spying the moves…

What a night of fantasy dreams
Wetness streaming down
From the trickling rain…

Shiny dew drops
Crawling on the petals
Of a budding rose flower…

With beats of drums
Swaying of hips
Rhythm on sweet lips…

O’ what a refreshing sight
Will she hear this plight
Help me make it through the night…

For the end is near
Love of my life is now and here
To lead me to Heaven…

SHAPE YOUR LIFE AS YOU WILL IT TO BE

SHAPE YOUR LIFE AS YOU WILL IT TO BE

we have the power

Words do bear much wisdom and sight
Which most don’t use! They throw away
The claim to greatness rests in our hands
A truth that’s plain but mostly unseen
We’re built much stronger than we appear
To create our life’s path, and define our place

We are born to win any of life’s fight
As long as we don’t let our efforts sway
The will to weave destiny’s strands
Only unveils to those apt and keen
Minds unbound by doubts and fear
We can overcome whatever we face

We learnt to walk; we can also learn to take flight
It is within our power to live life our way
And within our power to choose where our fate lands
The strife and struggles that come in-between
Seek to breaks us, blind us and make our role unclear
But we must never give up, never quit life’s race

We have to hang on and hold on tight
We must rise when we fall come what may
Doors are opened by a mind that understands
It is up to us to make our pastures green
And towards success that’s how we draw near
To ultimately fulfilling the life dreams we chase
