Occasion Of The Butterflies

Out from the hostile environment surrounding occasion
A new beginning
The birthing ground gave them up
To the sky
To the air
Thousands of wings in movement
Demanding attention
Yet all is hushed
In this unshaded place we roamed
Walking the deserts meadow that day
Yet they flew
The heat of midday bothers them not
Some lived and died
But it seemed as if in this moment
They were enjoying
Sharing of themselves to us
In all directions they dispense themselves
Dawning this birth
Unto a destination unknown to us
And as all this beautiful chaos subsides
Observing this [avatar user=”Eric Von Rohr” size=”100″ align=”right” link=”/author/eric-von-rohr”] Creation’s phenomena
Few are now left
We take this wonder in musing
And we return from whence we came

three boys

three boys

He wanted to be that man...

He wanted to be that man…

Two (or three) boys.

Some place
Some time
There was a tea shop.
Open not just in the mornings,
But at noon and the evenings too.

Mornings, the menu read
Uzhunnuvada, idli,dosa,
Uppuma, vellayappam,idiyappam,
Sambar, payaru curry,kadala
And several chatnis.

Noon, the menu read
Aviyal,achinga,pachadi,
Kichadi,pulisseri,thoran,achar,
And several kinds of buttermilk.

Evenings, the menu read
Sukhiyan, bonda,
Pazhampori, parippu vada, mulaguvada,
Diluted milk, black coffee
And several forms of tea.

There was a cook in that tea shop.
There was an owner for that tea shop.
Both had a son each.
Those boys went to the same school.
They studied in the same class.
They sat on the same bench.

Whenever he was hungry,
One of the boys thought of
The owner of that tea shop.
Eyes widening with admiration for
The great man that he was!
He could eat anything
Whenever he was hungry,
Reaching for it in the container
Or poking his head into the food shelf
Or entering the kitchen itself.
He could take anything,
The boy salivated.

To the query “What do you want to be?”,
He even replied once that
He wanted to be that man.

But, whenever he was hungry,
The other boy thought of
The cook in that tea shop.
He lauded him in awe of
the great man that he was.
He could cook and eat
Anything any time any quantity,
He imagined jealously.

To the query “What do you want to be?”,
He even replied once that
He wanted to be that man.

Wait, don’t leave yet,
Dusting off your bottom
After reading an average poem.
Sighing indepthly
Or grunting lazily
Or belching sourly.

You are free to leave after
Answering a few questions.

Who owns this tea shop actually?
These schoolboys from the tea shop,
Whose sons are they actually?

There is another boy [avatar user=”Pheke Ghulam Danish” size=”100″ align=”right” link=”/author/pheke-ghulam-danish”]
Besides these two
In this poem!

Who is he?

Noise can be beautiful
Quiet alarming, exposing one self
Repose and confidence shall be my serenity

Subjugation, suppression of flesh against the soul
Effectual, eventual, is the Almighty’s prose
Grace that pulsates my very being

To him who struggles, whose heart is not wrought?
I have reprieve
Found worthy because I deem truth, to be living, alive

Like the wind
You perceive its effects, yet though
One cannot touch or much less contain with sight

So it is with His Spirit
With stillness, He takes up residence
Segregating flesh and essence [avatar user=”Eric Von Rohr” size=”100″ align=”right” link=”/author/eric-von-rohr”]

Flesh still occupies, the Spirit has conquest
Show me a man who clamors for peace
And I, will tell of him the truth serene

Incredible Nature

Incredible Nature

English: St Wulstan’s Nature Reserve in the snow With Black Hill and Pinnacle Hill behind. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

It’s winter, time for snow
Moisture in the air freezes with temperature low
Bushes and trees wrapped In this exclusive cover
Lush green meadow too hides behind this new shelter.

How delicate the infant snow
As light as petals of jasmine glow
A day older it hardens faster
Becoming a challenge for the vehicle driver.

The earth glitters with its new attire
Remains bright even during the night
Reflecting the light back from surface bright
It matches a magic land at every sight.

But office,school, work place& markets
Lose charm, overpowered by this frozen water
Bitter cold, merciless wind, delays the buzz of life
Fixing the Homo sapiens in a fit of strife

Perhaps , Nature feels guilty of its deed,
Sky opens up, flooding warm rays of beads,
Besides, the tears of sky melts the hardest ice & delicate icicles,
Snow changing its forms, flows into the earth, completing its cycle

Oh! My Nature! How You love and care for us!
We take a oath, not to hurt you any more!

A VISION

A VISION

A sunset on Aitutaki in the Cook Islands with low Cumulus and Stratocumulus and high Cirrostratus clouds. Français : Un coucher de soleil sur Aitutaki dans les Iles Cook. In the Nine Islands there is not room enough:
I want to soar high among the clouds,
And, far beyond the Eight Limits of the compass,
Cast my gaze across the unmeasured void.
I will wear as my gown the red mists of sunrise,
And as my skirt the white fringes of the clouds:
My canopy—the dim lustre of Space:
My chariot—six dragons mounting heavenward:
And before the light of Time has shifted a pace
Suddenly stand upon the World’s blue rim.
The doors of Heaven swing open,
The double gates shine with a red light.
I roam and linger in the palace of Karampuang
I climb up to the hall of Barambang
The Lord God lies at his western lattice:
And the lesser Spirits are together in the eastern gallery.
They wash me in a bath of rainbow-spray
And gird me with a belt of jasper and rubies.
I wander at my ease gathering divine herbs:
I bend down and touch the scented flowers.
Borong gives me drugs of long-life [avatar user=”Pheke Ghulam Danish” size=”100″ align=”right” link=”/author/pheke-ghulam-danish”] And Lappa hands me strange potions.
By the partaking of food I evade the rites of Death:
My span is extended to the enjoyment of life everlasting.
